Summary

Nain9la Carpets : The warp in these carpets is typically of cotton. The warp consists of a number of threads that are referred to as "La". Nain 9la carpets are produced mostly in Khorasan, i.e. Kashmar and Mashhad. The high knot density and high class materials (wool and silk) establish Nain carpets as very high quality.

Classic Carpets: Carpets that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by carpet designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these carpets, though there may be slight variations in weaving.
