Tekke Carpets : The Tekke carpets bokhara that are woven in different regions of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and East Turkestan are examples of the carpet style called Bokhara. They belong to the group of Turkmen carpets. The deep red and the whole range of red from purple to brown are the dominant colors with repeating Bukhara designs. The warp of the carpets is wool.

Bokhara Carpets : The Bokhara carpets are woven in Belutchistan and in different regions of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Turkmen carpets include Basjir, Salor, Tekke-Bochara, Jolam-Bocharaband, Ersari, Tjaudor and Yomut which are examples of the carpet style called Bokhara. Some areas of Turkmenistan where carpets are woven are Ashkabad, Bakharden, Geok-Tepe, Kizyl-Arvat and Merv. The deep red and the whole range of red from purple to brown are the dominant colors with repeating octagons, rhombi, yomut motifs being characteristic of these carpets. The warp of the carpets is always wool.

Nomadic carpets with designs influenced by urban carpets: They are carpets woven by nomads who for the past few years had been living in villages. The carpets are woven in the nomadic style of weaving, but their designs are nowadays influenced by urban carpets. Due to the nomadic style of weaving carpets are sometimes uneven in shape.

Flat woven at one or both ends of the carpet's width: In some carpets the nomads weave at fringes on a narrow Kilim one or both sides of the width, or they weave them artistically into small braids.
