Kilim Sumak

The Soumak is woven in herringbone design. In Soumak wool and silk threads are used so we have wool, silk, and the wool-silk Soumak. The Sumak kilims are woven throughout the East, but mainly in the Caucasus, in the area situated between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. The name comes from the city Shamakhi, the commercial centre and the capital of the province of Shirva.
