Tabriz Carpets : The city of Tabriz is the capital of Azerbaijan province in Northwestern Iran. Until the end of the caravans era it was the most important centre for trade and carpet weaving. Tabriz supplied the West with masterpieces that were made by renowned and very capable weavers. Their high quality of Tabriz carpets made them renowned in world markets. Many workshops where created where hand-woven carpets with very high density knots and high quality materials where woven. Silk and fine quality wool establish these carpets as very high class. No other city in Persia produced such large quantity or variety of carpets. With or without a medallion, their designs are full of imagination and individuality. Flowers, scenes, stanzas of poems often decorate them. Their predominant colors are beige, blue and red.
Vintage Carpets : Vintage carpets by Carpetu2 are produced from older Persian handmade carpets aged at least 40-60 years with a long history. Each carpet is carefully selected and subjected to a unique process of reducing the pile to a minimum and neutralizing the color before to be painted in a new exciting color. The result is a combination of the old with the new, the traditional carpet design combined with a modern retro style. Vintage carpets can lose some of their original features and become even more unique in their appearance over time in modern new colors and old unique designs.
Classic Carpets: Carpets that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by carpet designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these carpets, though there may be slight variations in weaving.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the carpet pile: The shading is due to folding the carpet during transportation. When the carpet is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples
Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the carpet. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the carpets. Examples
