The small town Enjelas is located 15 km south of Hamadan. The carpets woven here have the same name and are dense and very durable. The most common design is called the "Herati" and is woven border to border repeatedly, rarely with a central medallion. The excellent quality of the wool they use is painted with natural colors that give the carpets a natural glow. The main colors used in Enjelas rugs are deep red with a complementary dark blue or vice versa, with a third color beingthe unpainted natural beige of the animal, which is used mainly in the borders and less in the rest of the area.
